Key Foundation Projects
Rosario Beach Tidepool Restoration
The tidepools at Rosario Beach are a unique treasure in the Puget Sound region. Unfortunately they are being loved to death. The Washington State Parks Foundation is partnering with the Tagney-Jones Foundation to fund restoration of these wonderful tidelands ... a $30,000 project. The restoration project involves removal of evidence of modern human beings as much as possible and re-establishing the feeling of a respected natural environment.
Marine and Cultural Education Facility
Each year, thousand of school children and other visitors explore the wonders of the Park. The Parks Foundation is exploring the feasibility of constructing a state of the art environmental and cultural learning center at the Park. The center would provide an opportuning to educate kids on the varied enviroment of the Deception Pass area and the rich cultural heritage of the Native American peoples who called this area home. This project will become a signature fundraising project for the Foundation.
